Johnny O’s Undercoating LLC is a mobile undercoating service. We come out to your home or business to provide our service.

We apply Fluid Film, a nontoxic, nonhazardous coating to the underbody of your vehicle and other spots commonly susceptible to rust and corrosion.

The purpose of our service is to protect your vehicles from rust and corrosion caused by road salt, brine and oxidation.

Fluid Film acts as a penetrating lubricant and creates a thick, non-running layer of protection. 

Fluid film is recommended to be applied at least once a year, prior to winter, for best results and protection against the elements. It can also be applied again in the Spring for maximum year-round protection.

Undercoating is crucial to maximize the life of your vehicles and should be considered standard preventative maintenance for vehicles in the "rust belt" or anywhere road salt and brine are used. This stuff works! There are endless examples of older vehicles that are well maintained and stay in service and INTACT with little to no rust for decades because of regular undercoating with Fluid film or other lanolin based products. 

With the price of new vehicles skyrocketing, many consumers, businesses and municipalities are looking to maximize the service life of their existing fleet or protect the significant investment they make in a new vehicle. 

Fluid Film is a lanolin based undercoating. It is nontoxic and non-hazardous. It is not runny and will not drip. Fluid Film penetrates and lubricates surfaces it contacts and forms an effective layer of protection from the elements.

While fluid film can be applied to a wet and dirty undercarriage, we recommend a moderately clean and dry undercarriage prior to application for best results. This can be most easily achieved by doing any of the following prior to application:

• taking your vehicle to a car wash

• spraying the underside with a hose stream

• spraying the underside gently with a pressure washer

To maximize the life of your undercoating during the harsh winter months, we recommend avoiding washing the undercarriage of your vehicle with soap or any kind of high water pressure until springtime and the threat of road salt/brine has passed.

While we do our best to minimize overspray, we prioritize providing a thick, protective and effective coating of fluid film to your vehicle. We apply undercoating with a pneumatic sprayer which means there will always be at least some aerosolized overspray. Following application, any overspray that makes contact with high heat impacted areas (e.g. exhaust piping) will melt off in the first 30-60 minutes of operating at normal engine operating temperature. You may sense a mild "melting" or "burning" smell outside of the vehicle during this period, this is normal and will go away once all overspray has melted off.

Our undercoating will not reverse rust that already exists, but it is very effective in minimizing or stopping the spread of any further rust.

Owner, John Otcasek, saw vehicle prices rise dramatically and started Johnny O's Undercoating to help meet the high demand of customers looking to protect their automotive investments from the elements of harsh northeast Ohio winters.

John grew up in northeast Ohio and has lived and worked here his whole life. As a proud Midwesterner, John takes pride in providing honest, friendly and reliable service for his customers. He has a passion for keeping vehicles in good repair, which can be an uphill battle when living in the “rust belt”.

During his youth, John was active in school, sports, work and extracurriculars. He is a proud Eagle Scout. As an adult, John has worked as a firefighter since 2019 and maintains an active lifestyle. Outside of work, John has a passion for the outdoors, motorcycles, snowboarding, homesteading, music and spending time with friends and family.
